WENT TO POST 2:19. OFF AT 2:191 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. AL HASH, on the outside from the start, remained in the middle of the track after entering the stretch and held on determinedly to withstand ARCOURT. The latter, outrun to the final quarter mile, finished strongly under urging, was unable to overtake the top one, but was easily best of the others. LITTLE ZAC was unable- to better his position when set down through the stretch. IMPRESSMENT gave a fair effort and had no mishap. BOWLED OVER, listlessly handled, could not keep up. LEADING MAN, away alertly and well ridden, engaged NIFTY until inside the stretch, disposed of the latter and held on gamely under urging to withstand WHATANURSE. The latter, never far back, was forced wide at the stretch turn, finished fast when straightened for the drive, but could not reach the winner. DONQUEST saved ground from the start, but could not better his position when set down for the drive. NIFTY, a sharp factor from the beginning, reached the lead between calls nearing the stretch while racing with LEADING MAN, then faltered during the drive. BEAUTYS TIGER lacked early speed and coula not reach serious contention during the stretch run. LUCKY CHIPS, showing marked improvement under a change of riders, went to the front early, entered the stretch with a clear lead, but was ridden, out to retain the advantage. COUNT STEEL, in close quarters nearing the stretch, finished fast when clear for the drive. BLABBER MOUTH, outrun for a half mile, made up ground during the last quarter. SWEEP BOLT bsgan fast and raced with LUCKY CHIPS to the stretch, then faltered during the drive. PORT BEAUMONT .saved ground during the last three-eighths, but lacked racing room when nearing the finish. OCEAN CLIPPER began1 sluggishly. OFF AT 3:47 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. EPIC KING, smartly handled, steadily .worked way forward when clear and disposing of the leaders during the drive, appeared ready to draw clear at the finish. GOOD TIMES, sharp factor from the start, raced by SHORT TINT after entering the stretch and continued willingly under urging but was unable to withstand the winner, although much the best of the others. SHORT TINT went to the front at once, made the pace until inside the stretch but faltered when challenged by GOOD TIMES. ETERNAL SIR raced wide and could not threaten the leaders when straightened up during the drive. FIGHTING EAGLE lacked early foot and was never dangerous. KITTY VAN tired. DISH OF TEA, well ridden and never far back, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, responding readily to brisk urging, disposed of SHIBBOLETH, then held SPEED 0 LIGHT safe. The latter lacked early speed and lost ground while improving position to the stretch, then finished with a rush, but could not overtake the winner. SHIBBOLETH assumed command soon after the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, but faltered when challenged by DISH OF TEA. NOCALLULA saved ground throughout in an improved effort. SHELBY LANE engaged SHIBBOLETH to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. RACKER-BILL began fast, but steadily lost ground after the start. HAPPY GANDER, sharp factor from the outset, reached the lead during the stretch run but was unable to hold the top one. NERVE gave a good effort and had no mishap. SLIPPER SATIN lacked early speed, saved ground entering the stretch and closed willingly under punishment, but could not get t othe top ones. SECOND AVENUE failed to rally when set down for the drive. IS THERE was outrun. AIR FLIGHT drifted out at the stretch turn. FIRST HEIR raced forwardly placed to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. WISENHEIMER was never a serious threat.
