FLAT SIDE came to the middle of the track for the drive and, after -disposing of MAMA REDBIRD, won going away. The latter held sway to the stretch under steady rating, shortened stride when challenged and, though unable to withstand the winner .easily bested the others. CHERAY GAL rallied too belatedly to become an endangering factor. HIDI-ANN lacked the necessary rally NASCALLA raced wide. BELLEBAN was through after a half mile. SABER SHARP drifted out on the final turn and tired thereafter. TETU was outrun. CONTOUR quit. RAES BID began sluggishly. LONGLEAT raced in closest pursuit of IGNITION for a half mile, continued next to the rail to take command when the latter drifted out on the final turn and in a long drive held MY CUT IN safe. The latter came fast when set down for the drive and rapidly was overtaking the top one. IGNITION drifted out extremely wide on the final turn and was unable to regain the lead when straightened. FAMILY MAN made up some ground diiring the late .stages. ELIAS G. had no mishap. EARLY LIGHT and WOODYS BOOTS were always outrun. Overweight— Elias G., 1 pound. CRASH DIVE made the pace to the stretch undei steady rating and increased his advantage thereafter, winning with speed in reserve. SOUTH POINT moved up menacingly leaving the final turn, but was unable to endanger the winner when hard hustled through the fina furlong. BICARB came out to the middle of the track for the drive, but was not good enough. GRECIAN QUEEN was through afier six furlongs. COUNT ME OUT was unable to keep up. FAIR BROTHER never was dangerous. COUNT CAIN stumbled slightly leaving the gate, attained a contending position after a half mile, then faltered. STEEL BLUE stopped to a walk. The latter raced VAIN PURITAN into defeat to take command after a half mile, then held on determinedly in a sharp effort SEMOLINA drifted out on the first turn, was guided to the complete outside for the stretch run and under brisk urging, was getting to the top ones.
