Canadiana, Two Stablemates Await Stakes at Arlington ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 22. — Three Canadian stakes runners belonging to Col. E. P. Taylor of Toronto, are at Arlington Park. They are under the care of trainer Charles W. Shaw, Jr. Included in the unit was the four-year-old filly, Canadiana, winner of the 1953 Queens Plate at Woodbine and Test Stakes at Saratoga. Taylor has named the home-Jbred filly for the 0,000-added Modesty Stakes, July 10. Last year, the daughter of Chop Chop — Iribelle, finished third to Arab Actress and Home-Made in the Cleopatra Handicap, her only Arlington appearance. Canadiana earned 2,624 during 1953. Others in the string are the two-year-old filly, Flirt, named for the 5,000-added Pollyanna Stakes, and the five-year-old Castleton. The latter, a foreign-bred, will be pointed for the 5,000-added Stars and Stripes Handicap on the grass. Taylor, a leading Canadian industrialist and horseman, is vice-president of Woodbine Park in Toronto.
