WANDA was taken up when lacking room on the inside early in the stretch run and failed to menace the winner. NAVAL AFFAIRE closed well from the outside. FLAXEN MANE raced evenly. MILL TRACT, In close attendance to the pace, attained a clear lead near the furlong pole, pulled herself up shortly thereafter, again drove to the fore nearing the end and gained a narrow victory while loafing. MERRY GO ROUND responded to strong pressure and just missed. FACET lacked the needed rally. GALVANIZE raced evenly. CAP CHECKER attained a commanding lead along the backstretch and stopped badly. TEDDYS REVIEW was outrun. - CLOVERETTE was shuffled back leaving the half-mile ground. The stewards called for an inquiry but took no action. Scratched— 20447 Mindful, 117. MONDAVAL was kept on the outside while lacking speed in the early stages and responded well to wear down the leaders. JAZERANT alternated in setting and pressing the pace and continued on gamely to outfinish GLORYS CROWN. The latter moved from just off the pace to frest command near the furlong pole, then weakened slightly. ANCIENT CITY lacked speed to move through on the leaders early and lacked sufficient response in the drive. JESS LINTHICUM was unable to draw clear early and quit. The latter turned back repeated challenges by GREEN S FOLLY to draw clear after five furlongs, then just failed to last. BEACON BOUND loomed a threat in early stretch and hung. LITTLE GREG saved ground to no avail. GREENS FOLLY weakened in the. late stages. CORMORANT showed nothing. BLUE CROWN quit. Attendance, 9,863; Total Mutuel Pool, 26,554. _
