WOOD RUN gained steadily nearing the stretch turn, and coming strongly on the outside through the stretch, caught CLAIRBEAU nearing the end to win under pressure. CLAIRBEAU was close up from the start and headed BABY NOLE after entering the last furlong, then leld on well. His rider claimed a foul against the winner, but the claim was not allowed. BABY NOLE increased her advantage nearing the far turn but tired badly after being headed. GEORGE SCHRECK was rather wide in the early part and tired. PARADISE ISLE had some early sped. AIR BATTLE was in tight quarters on the inside in the early running. LALLA ROOKH failed to be a serious contender. Scratched— 20475 Blue Rogue, 120; 20717 Joe Thesing, 120. HARRIETS PET soon dashed to the front to open up a good lead and was easily best of the others. BONNIE INEZ made up ground in the final quarter. Won easily; second and third driving. CALORIMETER was slow to get in stride and was outrun or a quarter, then came strongly and, moving up to HOOSIER RELIC in the last furlong, easily passed him to /in going away. HIGH DRIFT was never too far from the pace and, finishing well, got up to be second in the losing strides. MR. WIGGINS had a slight advantage in the first quarter and went fairly well after being eaded. HOOSIER RELIC tired in the last furlong. POLTROON failed to be a serious threat. CHARLES A. raced with WINTER LOVE for a short stance, then took command to draw out in the stretch, but had to be hustled along near the finish to hold ILLYS GEM. The latter was slow to get in stride and was outrun to the stretch, then found an opening to ove up and was gaining on the winner. A TOUTE FORCE had fair speed from the start and went steadily to the id. SIXTY TWO moved up to the leaders on the outside nearing the stretch turn, but weakened in the final rlong. DIXIE SPY was taken under restraint early and was permitted to drop some distance back of the pacesetters, then moved on the outside in the stretch as if much the best to take command after entering the last furlong and won easily. THIRD LADY made up ground and was racing gamely at the finish. FLEET DREAM led for a quarter and continued forwardly when headed to save third place. SUDU GAL moved up to LADY DEK0VER on the stretch turn, but was unable to get to the front and dropped back nearing the end. ALLES KAPUT was badly outrun. VAGABOND KING was under light -wraps while following the pace in the first half-mile, then gained on BREADWINNER to take command after entering the stretch and, shaken up, withstood VIXEN FIXIT. The latter showed a tendency to lug in during the stretch run, continued well after being straightened out, but bore out nearing the finish and lost her chance. BREADWINNER showed good speed in pacemaking and ran a steady race. WHIRLAHEAD failed to be a serious contender. CHERIFUL tired. LADY JOKER was in tight quarters after entering the stretch. THEMIS went evenly in a fair effort. LADY SAMM was outpaced. MAMBO was off poorly. The latter also made a fair move on the outside through the stretch. SLINGER was never a contender in a dull effort. CHOW CHOW dropped out of it after going six furlongs.
