Claud Davis Rides First Winner FONNER PARK, Grand Island, Nebr.J April 30. — Apprentice Claud Davis won the first race of his short riding caTeer at Fon-ner Park" Tuesday. The 19-year-old youth from Phoenix, Ariz., was aboard Ed Clarks Rubber Check in his upset victory over Storm Waters in the fifth race. Davis did a workmanlike job of riding the Clark gelding and held a length winning margin at the wire. Rubber Check, a rank outsider, returned 3.60, one of-the longest prices of the current meeting.
