Sanabria Handles Three Cahokia Downs Winners Auburn Tiger and Bolero Jane In Tonights Centralia Purse By A. L. SHIELDS CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, HI.. April 3p. — Veteran jockey Rafael Sanabria came within one victory of leading rider honors at this course Tuesday night when he registered a triple. The leading rider at the moment is apprentice R. C. Galli-more. who scored his fourth victory of the meeting aboard Mikel Farms Welcome Guest in the ninth race last night. Sanabria s first score came in the second event aboard Frank E. Butzows Brady Lane to complete a Daily Double which returned 6.40. to the holders of the 3-4 combination. Brother Bud, the winner of the first, race, gave his followers an uneasy time by running off during the parade to the post. The stewards, however, decided to allow Brother Bud to remain in the race and their judgment was vindicated when the Count Domino gelding, still in a running mood, left the gate the fastest of all and was going away at the finish. C. N. Salernos Lissas Lad provided Sanabria with his second victory in the third race and his third score of the evening was achieved with Sam Pershalls Princess Ellen in the eighth race. The ,400 Centralia Purse, at 5 furlongs, spotlights Thursday evenings program. Designed for three-year-olds and upward, it will be contested under allowance conditions and has attracted nine of the better sprinters on the grounds. Auburn Tiger will be making his first appearance of the season. The six-year-old Education — Miss Dolphin gelding was a winner of six sprint races last year and is the likely favorite Thursday. Bolero Jane, who was on the also eligible list for the Inaugural Handicap here last Saturday and failed to get in, will probably furnish the strongest contention. A winner of five races last year the five-year-old Bolero — Kidded mare scored at Oaklawn Park before being shipped to this point. Willow Jade came here from Sunshine Park, where he was a winner of two races. He is slated to be ridden by Harrel Bolin, leading rider at this course last year and must be accorded a good chance.
