Mac Mullen Named Best Nebraska Older Horse Bruning Four-Year-Old Earned ,500 in Competition Last Year OMAHA, Nebr., April 30.— Mac Mullen, fleet ssn of one of Nebraskas finest stallion, O. K. Mullen, today was named the Nebraska-bred Older Horse of 1957. Owned by F. H. Bruning and L .A. Snyder of Bruning, Nebr., Mac Mullen compaigned as a four-year-old last year and was accorded the honor by the judges on the basis of his earnings that totaled ,550. Runner-up laurels were accorded Mr. Moran, owned by H. C. and E. Jordon, a six-year-old last year, who amassed ,360. The judges were Ralph Boomer, secretary of the Nebraska State Racing Commission; Dean Williams of the Daily Racing Form, and Howard Wolff, racing editor of the Omaha World-Herald. y As Older Horse of 1957, Mac Mullen will be honored at a special banquet at Ak-Sar-Ben during the civic organizations May 20 through July 5 meeting this summer. His owners will receive a special plaque from Ak-Sar-Ben. Still to be chosen are the Nebraska-bred two-year-old of 1957, three-year-old, horse of the year an.d breeder of the year. Mac Mullen raced five times at Ak-Sar-Ben last year, winning three races, placing once and showing the other time, to earn ,400. He added ,150 inAugust at Ellis Park in Kentucky.
