JAMES PRAISES INDIAN BROOM LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 20. Though he set a new worlds mark of 1:47 for thre mile and an eighth in winning the March-bank Handicap at Tanforan, Maj. Austin J. Taylors Kentucky Derby eligible Indian Broom could have gone faster, according to the blond-thatched Basil James, seventeen-year-old Washington state boy, who rode the three-year-old record maker in that race. James, who is here with his new employer, H. H. Cross Tranquillity Farm, declares that he "never made a move" while piloting the son of Brooms in his phenomenal feat, which brought down the mighty Top Row, winner of the 00,000 Santa Anita Handicap, and others.
