REWARD HORSE AND RIDER Long Point and Jockey Rausser in the Limelight at Akron — Latter Rides Four Winners. AKRON. Ohio. May S.- G. P. Foughts Long Point accounted for the India Tire and Rubber Company Purse, the sixth and feature attraction at Northampton Park this afternoon when he beat Brownie Smile by three parts of a length. Randals Royal the pacemaker to the stretch, was a distant . third tiring badly during the last sixteenth. The placed trio were closely bunch midway of the stretch but Long Point proved the gamest when the final test came after having lost much ground by being carried extremely wide at the first turn. Following the running of this race the winning jockey W. Rausser was the recipient of a purse of gold, the presentation being made by .1. Dunlevy, vice president of the India Tire and Rubber Company. The winning horse was also decorated with a floral wreath and was a target for the camerman. It was a fitting tribute to jockey Rausser as the success of Long Point marked the ! fourth winner of the afternoon ridden by . Phil Reuters apprentice. He is the most promising prospect developed on Ohio tracks ; this year. Repeating her last good performance her Lady Oxford made it two in a row when she showed the way by a comfortable margin - practically throughout the initial dash. St. Augustine and Necklace were her f closest rivals during the stretch and St. . Augustine secured second place after a mild 1 stretch drive. After the field had raced closely bunched I to the stretch head in the second race, Penita drew clear and won handily. Pojul 1 closed a wide gap to be*at Country Life for r second. The early contenders, Apres Moi, Machia%elli and Take All, retired from the e struggle during the last quarter. Shine On displayed the most speed to the ? stretch turn in the following race, but .lim n Daisy had the most in reserve for the final 1 test and won going away. Hopalong saved third. Jockey Rausser, who rode Renita and Jim n Daisy, piloted his third mount to victory y when he landed Lord Darnley home in front t of Barberry in the fourth. Barberry cut t out the early pace, but Lord Darnley found d an opening on the inside entering the stretch h and drew away from Barberry near the end. I.
