JAMAICA TURF NOTES f * k NEW YORK, N. Y., April 30. Gary Winfried returned from Havre De Grace, where he went to saddle the two-year-old Sport Hallahan in the Aberdeen. The colt was returned to Jamaica. R. McKeever arrived from Havre De Grace. Tom Wesh is going along slowly with the two-year-olds that he will race for James Gaffney. The youngsters will not be seen under colors until the latter part of the Belmont Park meeting. Phil Hyams received word from Goodloe Farms. I -xington. Ky.. that his mare. Watch Your Stitch, foaled a filly by Whisk Broom II. This is the sixth consecutive filly foal that Watch Your Stitch dropped and is said to l e the best of the lot. Hyams still has hopes that she will some day foal a colt. The mare will be bred back to a stallion not yet decided upon. Jockey Ambrose left yesterday for Havre De Grace, where he joins Mrs. K. E. Hitts stable. Temporary licenses have been granted the following riders : A. Klein, employed by A. J. ! Bedell : N. Devito. employed by R. A. Smith ; E. Delaney, employed by A. J. asey ; J. Muir. Phil MeKimm of the Clubhouse contingent is laid up at his home Bay Side with a severe attack of rheumatism. Jockey Johnny Kellum, who severed his connections with the Bud Fisher Stable last Monday, has consented to ride for Jack Richardson for the remainder of the year. When the name of Humdinger went around I Friday as that of a horse that had beaten Cantankerous in workouts his price was even money everywhere. When the colt entered I the paddock and it was realized some error had been made the prices went to 4 1-2 to 1 within a few minutes. Humdinger did not i run up to his name and it does not appear he is in the same class with antankerous. Pheasant, which raced in the Sunny land Stables colors in the third race Friday, was claimed by F. W. Barlow fcr ,000. There were two claims in the opening race. VMward Arlington took Prattle from F. W. Barlow for .0mi and Bert Pomeroy led Commissioner to his stable, after leaving ,600 at the secretarys office. The stake blanks for the coming meeting f the Illinois Jockey Club were distributed among the horsemen. James Rowe. Jr.. arrived from Rroi.kdale Farm. Red Bank, N. J., to saddle P.ostonian in the Wood Memorial Stakes. Willie Sheedy arrived today from Havre de Grace and reported that the three-year-olds Willie K. and Seldom Seen unloaded in good condition. James Fitzsimmons announced that Amber-jack would be shipped to Pimlieo to start in the Dixie Handicap. Jokey M.-Auliffe will ride him. The Bedford Farms Catalan, which went wrong at Miami last year and was placed in the stud, will be shipped to Saratoga and sold at public auction, with the brood mares from that establishment. Brady yesterday announced that E. B, Miner, who has been sup rising the shipment of thoroughbreds during the Maryland season, has lx-en permanently assigned to that task and at the end of the Pimlieo meeting Miner will be transferred to the office of Brady. Miner will take personal charge of the larger shipments and remain with them from the point of departure, until they have been delivered at the destination. Brady said the supply of cars in sight will be ample for all purposes throughout the season.
