April 30.— General-manager Edward Burke made an important announcement concerning the fall meeting to be given by the Hartford Agricultural Association next September. He instructed secretary Joseph McLennan to make it known to the horsemen that the club would add to each of the three handicaps run at the ten-day meeting the sum of 0,000. These handicaps are the Eastern Shore Handicap, for two-year-olds ; the Potomac Handicap, for three-year-olds, and the Havre de Grace Handicap, for three-year-olds and over. The entrance fees will be 0 and the starting fees 00. which will add considerably to the value of these events.
