1 CLAIMS AND SALES Two claims were filed in the third race Wednesday at Arlington Downs when Play Book went to H. C. Rumage, who saddled Dozana, winner of the race, while Paul Kelley got Palasa. Both horses were entered to be claimed for ,000. R. Robertson and Arthur Hullcoat both entered claims for Venetian, which finished second in todays second race, and in the draw the last named won. Then it developed that he was not eligible to make a claim, as he had not started a horse at the meeting, even though he saddled Acau-taw yesterday for Mrs. A. P. Doyle. Consequently the horse was awarded to Robertson, who ran Atmosphere in yesterdays final. Athol was claimed by C. Fountain for ,000 and Brown Wisdom was claimed by B. Daniels for ,000 at Bay Meadows. B. H. McAneeley filed the first claim of the afternoon when he took Westys Fox out of the second race at Arlington Downs Wednesday for ,000.
