MORE HORSES REACH DALLAS Over 400 Already Quartered at Fair Park New Barns Will Increase Stabling Room to 700. DALLAS, Texas, April 3. With the arrival of sixteen horses that W. C. Weant; is training for various owners there are now 405 thoroughbreds quartered at Fair Park awaiting - the twenty-one days meeting, which commences Thursday, April 25. Ad ditional barns that are now under construction will accommodate 200 more performers than it was possible to quarter at the fall meeting. With their completion it will be possible to stable 700 horses. R. B. George, one of the directors of Fair Park Association, spent a busy morning with Julius G. Reeder, general manager, and several important details regarding the meet, ing were ironed out. Messrs. George and Reeder met with the others directors this afternoon and their plans were laid before the racing commission. General manager Reeder stated that while at Arlington Downs Tuesday afternoon, he received congratulations from a majority of the horsemen regarding the liberal purse distribution to be made during the Fair Park season. Reeder further stated that he has stabling applications from a majority of the owners now racing at Arlington Downs and that from all indications he would be forced to turn down many applications due to lack of stabling accommodations. Reeder, who also serves as steward and racing secretary, is selecting his racing officials and he expects to be able to announce them in the next few days. The first book of conditions is now in the hands of the printer and Reeder expects to have them ready for distribution by Saturday. The top soil that was placed on the racing strip last fall has thoroughly mixed with the old soil. Herbert C. Anderson, track superintendent, has worked all winter on the track and it now has a three-inch cushion.
