HAGERSTOWN OPENS MAf 21 i Ten Days of Sport to Follow Major Meetings in Maryland -Bren-nan Racing Secretary. BALTIMORE, Md., April 3 Hagerstown, which revived racing in September, 1929, after a lapse of ten years, is now making great preparations to offer its ten-day meeting beginning May 21, which also marks the windup of this states spring racing season. Coming on the heels of Bowie, Havre de Grace and Pimlico meetings, Hagerstown will be in a position to offer its patrons the best thoroughbreds and finest riders. Edward J. Brennan of this city, who has done great work as racing secretary at Hagerstown, has again been chosen for that position. He is a great favorite with horsemen and is certain to offer capacity fields daily as his book will be arranged so that every stable will get a chance to. run its thoroughbreds before the session ends. President Andrew J. Coffman and vice-president and general manager Harold Bes-ter of the Hagerstown Fair Association, have some pleasant surprises for visitors to Hagerstown next month. They wili offer a remodeled plant; in fact, it will be one of the most comfortable of its kind to be found anywhere in America; Horsemen who plan to race at Hagerstown are requested to apply for stalls to, racing secretary Edward J. Brennan, care of Pimlico Race Track, Md. There are more than 350 available stalls at Hagerstown, but a first come, first serve attitude will be used; therefore it is advisable for horsemen to apply at once. General manager Harold Bester will visit here within the next ten days, at which timo he will likely name the other members of the Hub Citys official race family.
