CLASSIC DANCER saved ground throughout and held on courageously. COUNTESS BYE came to the outside in the stretch and finished fastest. NICKS GAL, a factor from the beginning, was forced wide, by the winner in the stretch and tired slightly in the closing strides. MAGIC GIFT lost much ground. MAYREEN, well up from the start, swerved when entering the stretch, then came again. FALSEHOOD raced wide when tiring in the stretch. TRAUMAGNE quit. BERT LAHR was never dangerous. The latter, well up from the start, went wide entering the stretch and stood light pressure gamely, but did not threaten the winner. WAR DIMES saved ground on the stretch turn and finished with a rush. SHOTEUR quit. IDLE-WILD was cut off by GEORGE at the far turn. A LA CARTE began slowly.
