j DAYTON MEETING WILL BEGIN NEXT SATURDAY 1 DAYTON, Ohio, May 31. Horse racing will be resumed at the Fair Grounds here on Saturday, June 8. The spring meeting which will be presented by the Dayton Jockey Club will consist of nineteen days. Bigger purses will be offered this year, and splendid competition is assured. Reservations that will tax the stall space at the Fair Grounds already have been received. Seven races will be provided daily, with an extra race on Saturdays. Racing each day will begin at 2:15 oclock. William Dangman, of Columbus, will be presiding steward of the meeting, and George E. Smith, of Cleveland, will be general manager. This is" the fourth meeting to be conducted at the Fair Grounds since the legalization of pari-mutuel betting in the state. Indications arerthat it will be the most successful both in the quality of racing and in public interest in the history of the sport here.
