SQUAWKER displayed good speed from the start, met determined early opposition from JOLLY and PAUL JUNIOR and, disposing of those, drew out in the stretch run. SYLVIA G., well placed, continued with good energy to the end. PAUL JUNIOR was a forward factor throughout, hut was unable to keep pace with the first two in the closing test. TRUJILLO, within striking distance of the pacemaker, was unable to threaten in the closing drive. LOOKOUT BOYS could never improve his position. JOLLY faltered after a display of early speed. MISS JONES was never dangerous. FORCED LANDING showed a flash of speed rounding the far turn, then tired. BAY BUDDY dropped back steadily and was never formidable at any time. BANJORINE raced to the front in the opening slridcs, was forced to meet determined opposition from SUN CAPTURE, responded gamely to pressure and drew clear in the stretch run. SUN CAPTURE moved up fast on the outside, made a determined bid to overtake the leader, lost some ground at the stretch turn and continued gamely to the end. BERGERE, unable to keep pace early, closed some ground in the last quarter mile. SOLAR TIME displayed keen early speed to reach contention after being blocked in the opening strides, was unable to overtake the leaders and tired in the last few strides. GREYBROOM, quickest to begin, drew clear in the opening three-sixteenths, was steadied along, was forced to meet determined opposition from EDDIE HELCK and outlasted the latter at the end. EDDIE HELCK, in closest pursuit of the winner from practically the beginning, made a bold effort to get to the front, but was not good enough. MIDNIGHT FLYER, hard ridden in an effort to reach the leaders, was unable to get up under punishment all through the stretch. BE JUST could never reach the leaders. TOANO was sent to the front soon after the start, withstood determined opposition from STAROGAN and, hard ridden, drew away through the closing eighth. STAROGAN, away fast and prominently placed all the way, continued well to the end, though Was unable to keep pace with the winner under pressure. LEROS lacked speed during the early stages and came with a belated bid in the last three-sixteenths. GAY CREST, well placed, saved ground in the stretch, but was unable to threaten the leaders. WISE PRINCE, well placed from the outset, moved up gradually and, wearing down HAPPY KNOT inside the last furlong, outlasted SPIXI at the end. The latter improved his position gradually and fought it out with good energy in the last eighth. SINGING WOOD, unable to keep pace early, moved up on the outside in the last three eighths, but was anchored under his impost and was unable to reach the leaders. HAPPY KNOT drew away into a long lead, only to weaken in the stretch run. TRUMPERY, slow to begin, saved considerable ground at the stretch turn and was unable to reach the leaders. LADY HIGLOSS, outpaced early, was unable to make up any ground when called upon. SAILOR BEWARE tired. CANDY PRINCE faltered after going well for a fast half mile.
