MOLASSES BILL, rated along just back of the first pair, came between the leaders in the stretch drive and .got up on even terms with the leader in the last stride. MAD DASH broke fast, was taken back off the pace when GAY NELLIE moved bv, came on asjain entering the stretch, but bore out slightly after getting to the fore and just failed to hold off MOLASSES BILL. GAY NELLIE set a fast pace for five-eighths, but tired when the real test came in the stretch. IDENTICAL, away slowly, could never get to the leaders, but dosed some ground at the finish. SECRET VOTE, outrun until midway of the stretch turn, came around the leaders under pressure, secured command midway of the stretch run and was going away at the end. SUMAC forced the pace at all times, slipped through on the inner rail at the far turn, secured a clear lead, but tired again when challenged. SO SORRY raced ontha outside of the leaders all through the back stretch and finished well, though tiring. PEGGY MINE broke tardily, but immediately rushed to the front, showed keen speed for a half mile, then tired. PETER CAREY, in close quarters as they raced along the back stretch, was crowded back when SO SORRY bore over slightly at the far turn. SINGED had no excuses. Overweight Peggy Mine, 2 pounds. The latter broke well, but was shuffled back the first sixteenth, then came on again -with rare courage when clear in the last quarter. FLYING WOOD tired after forcing the early pace. VOTE BOY, away fast, was taken back when GOLDEN FATE assumed the lead, made several bids in the run down the back stretch, but tired when the,. real test came.
