I HAWTHORNE TURF NOTES : j Madcap Yankee, B. B. Johnsons filly, turned in the best move with a breezing five furlongs in 1:02,7s. , Joseph Widener s filly. Fitter, winner of her only effort, went the distance in the same time, handily, accompanied by Fair Oaks. Tony Pelleteri sent Old Forester five furlongs in 1:02, handily. The Valdina Farms Petrose went three-eighths in :38Ys, handily. For failing to keep his mount straight during the run through the stretch inthe second race Wednesday, jockey Alcee Richard was fined 5 by the stewards.. The stable of Norman W. Church, in charge of E. L. Fitzgerald, is expected to reach Arlington Park from California within the next twenty-four hours. Whi;e consisting chiefly of two-year-olds, it includes several more matured racers of note, among them. Valiant Fox, which placed second in the Santa Anita Derby. Tranquillity Farms Rock X. and Challite are to be shipped to Detroit where they will fill stakes engagements Saturday. Trainer E. L. Snyder goes to the motor city to saddle them and unless his plan is changed, Willie Moran will ride them. After a long stay in the stable of T. C. Worden, the veteran, Repaid, was in new surroundings at Hawthorne Wednesday, C. E. Davison having claimed him out of the closing race Tuesday for ,750. Charles McLennan, Arlington Park racing secretary, reports practically all stable registrations for the coming meeting at that track already on file and urges the few owners or trainers who have not carried out this important detail, to do so at their earliest convenience. Registration blanks may be obtained at Hawthorne and the Arlington offices in Chicago. Back in training after a short, rest, Milky Way Farms Texas Derby winner, The Fighter, breezed three-eighths in :39 on a dull track here Wednesday morning. Dan A. Wood, Benton, 111., turf patron who raced Indian Runner, two-time winner of the Stars and Strips Handicap at Arlington Park, and others under George Ogle, was a visitor at Hawthorne Wednesday. Jockey H. Albrecht, who drew a ten-day suspension for rough riding at Aurora, resumed riding Wednesday. With a large number of horsemen, stable employees and others attending, the meeting of the Horsemens Social and Educational Club of Illinois, held at Hawthorne Wednesday morning, was as enthusiastic and encouraging to the sponsors of the club as the initial one held last Friday. Wednesdays, meeting was addressed by Dr. G. B. McKillip, veterinarian representing the state racing commission. George Foster, secretary of the racing commission, again acted as chairman. Meetings are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings next week, Foster announced. Goldman, which made his racing bow at Aurora and is named for the emergency or substitute race on Thursdays Hawthorne program, is one of few twin thoroughbreds to race. He is a son of Bread Man and Gold Bound and his twin, a filly, is named Duel , Miss. Goldman is owned by Mrs, J. Bairi-ion.
