SCHOLAR GIRL lacked early speed, but closed gamely. KERRY WAYS saved much ground on the lower turn, but tired in the last eighth. IRON SANDS tired badly. HARD BOILED, hustled into the lead on the inside,-shook off CARMI entering the stretch and held on gamely in the drive. SAYLOMA lacked early speed, saved ground all the way and finished gamely. LERACK came to the outside of the winner in the stretch and was gaining at the end. VAN HASTINGS started slowly and., far back for the first three-eighths, worked his way up gradually and was going gamely at the end. LANS ALICE broke fast from outside the cate. showed good speed. was carried wide by the winner on the first turn, saved ground entering the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. CAPTAIN LOGAN, sent into the lead at the tirst turn, was under slight restraint while making the pace and tired in the final drive. SENATOR MIKE was going gamely at the end. BABOO, impeded by an assistant starter at the break, was rushed up on the outside going to the first turn and tired badly. CABOTIN was never a contender. Overweight Senator Mike, 2 pounds. TOPWAY. hustled into a long lead in the first quarter mile, started to tire in the last half mile, but held the others safe.. JODHPUR raced well all the way. ROYAL JULIAN, in close quarters at the first turn, was knocked back to lasjj place, then made up some ground during the final quarter. RAGAWOOD tired.
