I SUFFOLK DOWNS NOTES t Harry Hayes received positive assurance Tuesday that the Robert string was en route to Suffolk Downs. An hour later he was astonished to receive word from the railway company that the horses had been shipped to Hawthorne and would not be here for the present at least. Mrs. Lois E. Hannon sold half interest in the two-year-old Hollbit to Mrs. Mary E. Brady of Charles Town. The filly will race in the colors of Mrs. Brady. Clint Thornton has signed a contract to ride for W. Hartman. Rushaway will be shipped direct to Suffolk Downs after fulfilling his engagements at Hawthorne and will be poi.ited for the Yankee Handicap on July 4. Johnny Longden leaves here Friday to pilot the Tarn three-year-old in his race in Illinois. Dr. J. D. Adams, who set Joey Wagners leg after the accident at Rockingham, reports everything in fine condition and expects to have Joe riding again before the end of the season. The plater Dalmatia will be out for two weeks as a result of an injury to his ankle. Managing director Wilson reports that more than twice as many seat reservations for the season have been made than were made last season. There are few box seats left unsold for the season. H. D. Cox shipped in six head from Aga-wam. C. A. Grande augmented hit- Suffolk string with the arrival of six head from Kentucky Wednesday. The promising apprentice K. McCombs, under contract to A. G. Vanderbilt, has won five races since he took his first two weeks ago. Bay Bubble, consistent filly from the string of A. G. Tarn, sheered a right front quarter crack.
