SARANARA, forced to lose much ground and strongly urged when improving her position on the turn, slowly wore down BEAUTY SLEEP and won drawing clear. The latter rushed into command and, saving ground after the first eighth, held on well, but was not good enough to withstand the winner. PRINCESS BULL, a strong factor from the start, tired slightly in the late stages. PHALASAN, slow to recover after being forced back on the turn, was. going boldly in the final stages. The latter, under strong riding after three-eighths, secured room on the inside in the stretch and held on well. SURCOUF finished fast. OH DOLLY quit after showing speed to the stretch. TWO SONS raced wide throughout and well up from the start, raced into a short lead soon after reaching tlie stretch, then, holding on well, withstood TRANSPORTS bid. The latter, forced to lose even more grbund than the winner, improved his position gradually and, finishing with determination, barely failed to get up. SHASTA BROOM dropped back on the turn, but came again under mild pressure in the stretch and outfinished HIP BOOTS. The latter raced well. IMPERIAL PAL, badly outrun early, swerved to the inside when making up ground in the stretch. OGEE was in close quarters early. FROST BITE, on the inside throughout, quit badly after showing speed to the stretch. RUBANS CHOICE also gave way badly in the final quarter. STIMULATOR, lame, was outrun. . LADY MONTROSE, in a tangle early and strongly shaken up when clear after reaching the turn, raced between horses when rapidly improving her position scon after reaching the stretch, came to the outside of GREENSPRING LAD in the final sixteenth and wore him down in the closing strides. The latter forced an exceptionally fast early pace, went to the inside after taking command in the stretch and, tiring, failed to hold the winner. ILLEANNA, slow to respond to light urging and brought to the outside in the stretch, closed weft. BLUE TRAIN had speed from the start, but faltered in the late "stages. IMPEACH, on the inside early and swung to the outside on the turn, was under strong pressure in the final quarter, but could not reach the leaders. CANDESCENT had no mishaps. JUDGE LEER lacked speed. LITTLE SHAVER, never a great distance back and raced wide throughout, stood pressure gamely while wearing down the leaders and, drawing clear in the final sixteenth, held PALAN safe. The latter, away well but unable to keep up, came with good speed in the last three-sixteenths. HIGH POLISH, under light restraint early, tired after working his way to the front, but outlasted ROBERT L. The latter took command quickly, saved ground afer the first eighth, slowly gave way to HIGH POLISH and also tired in the final eighth. EARLY" TIMES bore pver badly in the stretch. CHASAR, going in his best form and outrun for three-quarters, during which he saved ground where possible, came to the outside quickly in the stretch and, closing boldly, was up in the final stride. FIRE ADVANCE, taken back early and well in hand for almost three-quarters, came to the outside of the leaders for the drive and faltered after getting up, but narrowly failed to last. COTTON CLUB, reserved off the pace, tired nearing the lead in the drive, but outstayed BIRD FLOWER. The latter, quickest to begin but taken back under strong restraint, was placed to pressure after coming around BUCK. LANGHORNE in the stretch, held the lead briefly approaching the final eighth, but also faltered near the end. BRANDON PRINCE, taken back on the stretch turn, came again. BUCK LANGHORNE quit. SAILOR?S GIFT, never far back, moved up in the stretch, but was held safe by the leaders. BURNT TRAIL failed to be a strong factor under pressure. WILD COUNT quit. CRIMSON was outrun. The latter, a strong factor throughout, held on gamely under punishment, but could riot menace the winner. LATER ON, well up for a .half mile, dropped back approaching the stretch, was taken to the outside for the drive and closed gamely. SHALOT had no excuse. DARKLING began slowly and was outrun.
