TEXAS COMMISSION ORDERS j i SEVERE PUNISHMENT i J AUSTIN, Tex., June 17 The Texas Racing Commission late yesterday took final action in the case of J. Singleton, trainer of the horse Vin Noir, which, according to the report of the state chemist, was stimulated at the time he won a race at Arlington Downs, April 24. Singleton stands suspended by the commission for six months, dating from April 21. The owner is given permission to sell Vin Noir. The race which Vin Noir won was the last on the program of the next to last day of the meeting. The commission dealt severe penalties to three other trainers and one jockey, all for offenses on the minor tracks of the Texas Racing Association. Jockey J. J. Dewitts license was revoked, C. Kindle, trainer of Big Moment, was ruled off and the horse also ruled off as the result of the investigation of a charge that the horse was stimulated. J. R. Kelly was suspended for six months for the use of a chain on the horse Mike Reynolds. L. Marks, owner and trainer, was suspended for six months.
