DETROIT TURF NOTES j Jack S. Young, part owner of Jane F., discovered Wednesday morning that the filly was blind in her left eye. Judge Young, who is the steward representing the state racing commission, believed for some time that the filly was in ailing condition, but did not discover the blindness until Wednesday. Judge Joseph A. Murphy, who will serve as director of racing at Thistle Down, announced Wednesday that post time for the first race will be 2:15 oclock. Acting for J. S. Riley, Jack Webber sold Traveller to L. Schriber, who vanned the horse to Akron, Ohio. Bomar Stables Grand Girl, which was badly cut down here, last summer, was vanned from Keeneland Stud and placed in training. Jockey C. Stevenson arrived from Latonia and will accept mounts during the rest of the week. He will ride one of the Dixiana two-year-olds in Saturdays Moslem Temple Stakes. Jockey Gordon Arnold, who was tossed from Lovely Spy when he stumbled in the final furlong of the mile and seventy yards seventh race, escaped injury.
