ROYAL RAIMENT hustled into the lead, increased her advantage while racing lightly restrained on the turn where he swerved out slightly, rallied to a mild shaking up in the stretch and, taken in hand in the last sixteenth, had something left. RECUSSION, away slowly and badly outrun for a half mile, secured room on the inside when coming stroncly thereafter. PERCENT, well up from the start and under strong riding after three-eighths, tired in the late stages. THE QUEEN showed a good effort. LUCKY DUCKY was on the inside for three-eichths. PEPLUM, away fast and having the most speed, saved eround throughout, responded to good pressure after reaching the last five-sixteenths and held PEGGY PORTER safe to win with speed in reserve. The latter, under vigorous riding from the start, could not get to the winner, but held on creditably in her even effort. EXCLAIM, never a great distance back and under light restraint early, held on well when under energetic riding in the final quarter. SARANARA, rank at the post and away slowly, raced well. MERINA suffered sharp interference soon after the start, saved ground much of the way, but could not improve her position. SHATTERPROOF was outrun. FITTER began in a tangle. VERY WISE rushed into command and, steadied on the turn, was shaken up when entering the stretch and, under stout pressure after five-eighths, tired in the final eighth, but withstood the bid of BABY SIS. The latter moved up between horses on the turn, closed resolutely under strong handling and was wearing down the winner. MONOPLANE improved his position gradually, went evenly thereafter and barely outstayed LE MISERABLE. The latter, forced to, lose much ground, showed a fine effort. JUDGE BARKLEY closed fast on the inside. PETTY TAW, badly outrun for a half mile, made up ground thereafter. rOLYPIIOTE dropped out of it when being forced wide on the turn. MARICA, under energetic handling from the start, saved ground on the stretch turn and closed with good speed in a splendid performance. GLEEMAN dropped back slightly on the turn, lost ground entering the stretch and fought it out gamely in the drive. MID VICTORIAN moved up fast on the turn, was under pressure thereafter and tired in the stretch. CROWNING GLORY had no mishaps. KENTUCKY BLUES quit. BUTTER BEANS, under steady restraint for seven-eighths, moved up steadily between horses when called upon and drew out slowly under pressure. MISS TWINKLE opened up a good lead after the opening eighth, was rated along under mild restraint and held on well. TACT, sluggish in the opening stages, closed with a belated rush on the outside. BYRDINE moved up fast on the inside at the stretch turn and faltered in the final sixteenth. BATMAN tired badly after showing good speed for three-quarters. Corrected weight Batman, 105.
