I KEENELAND TURF NOTES Bub Greeley, manager of Nash Brothers Shandon Farm, was a visitor for the opening. Shandon Farm has five horses here under trainer D. McEachcrn. Fast Stride, Epinique, Peloria, Blue Marque and Lady Sybil make up the equine personnel of J. G. Langs Elmtree Stable here for racing under the direction of C. W. Damon. Mose Goldblatt, Cincinnati turfman, is represented at Keeneland by a strong unit of his stable. Four owned by Goldblatt arrived Thursday from Louisville and others are slated to come from the same point for engagements next week. John M. Gaver will handle starters from the unit of Mrs. Payne Whitneys Greentree Stable here for the meeting. Greentree representatives on the grounds include Memory Book, Black Buddy, Jamboree, Tattered, Seventh Inning and several others. C. B. Shaffer and his son, E. Dale Shaffer, will start Log, Lull and Coronium during the meeting. They were vanned from Coldstream Stud to Keeneland Wednesday. With the arrival of R. Workman, E. Ar-caro, E. Legere and H. Schutte, the number of jockeys available as the Keeneland meeting opened was twenty-three. Others ready to accept mounts were E. Steffen, J. Gilbert, R. Dotter, L. Guymon. T. Dickinson. R. Cheatham, H. Beasy, W. C. Huff, J. Dyer, M. Garner, G. South, C. Landolt, J. McCoy, B. Bryant, R. Yelton, G. Miller. H. Gower, W. Nertney and L Anderson. Workman and Arcaro came from New York, with Legere and Schutte checking in from Chicago. The James W. Parrish stable, consisting of eight head under trainer J. M. Goode. is expected from River Downs Friday. Jerome B. Respess is shipping a like number here from the same Ohio course. John B. McKee, well known horseman, came from his home in Mt. Sterling and, following a short visit here, will leave for California. Harry H. Hart, accompanied by Mrs. Hart and a" group of friends, was present at Keene-Iands introduction. Hart leaves within a short time for California. Col. E. R. Bradley is expected Sunday from Baltimore and will remain at his Idle Hour Farm for some weeks before going to his home In Palm Beach. All Idle Hour yearlings are slated to work for the first time before their famous owner Sunday afternoon. Swccpdale, in foal to Bull Dog, was sold by T. C. Piatt and John Marsch to E. F. Woodward, owner of Valdina Farm, at Lexington Thursday. Among the notables witnessing the inaugural program at Keeneland were Warren Wright and Otto W. Lehman of Chicago. George H. Bull of New York, Seth Morton of Albany and Thomas D. Taggart of French Lick Springs.
