FLICKERING was .rushed into command after the break and showed high early speed, raced ODD GIRL into defeat and held OFF AND ON safe in the final drive. The latter responded to urging when called upon, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and finished fast. OLD MAID was in close quarters in the early running, forced her way clear and finished fast at the end on the outside. NIGHT WATCH forced the pace from the start while saving ground and had no mishaps. OCTAVE unseated her rider going to the post necessitating a change in riders and weight and then faltered- under pressure after moving up in the stretch run. ROCKY MARGOT raced evenly all the way. AROUSED forced the pace from the start, came to the outside entering the stretch and responded when called upon, wore down FLOPSIE, but hung in the last strides. FLOPSIE was rushed into command after the. break, showed high early speed while saving ground and had no excuses. DRAWN SWORD broke well and, close up, was blocked at the half mile post and, forced back, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, but was blocked again at the eighth post by FLOPSIE and forced back. SOCIAL ERROR dropped back after the break and could not menace the leaders. BRIGHT CHANCE had no excuses. SILVER LAGOON quit badly when called upon. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILK. MERRY MAKER was outrun in the early stages, improved his position steadily, but swerved toward the inside at the eighth post and caught TOP RADIO in close quarters, forcing him to take up. DANGER POINT worked his way up from a slow beginning, came wide entering the stretch and finished with determination on the outside of the leaders. ELI YALE was in nearest pursuit of the early pace, but was quitting in the final eighth. MAHDI drew away into a long lead, saved ground and had no mishaps. FORTIFICATION, away well, was eased back in the early running, saved ground at the turns, but could not menace the leaders. IDENTICAL moved up with determination on the inside rounding the far turn, came to the outside of the leader, but hung in the final drive. COUNT UP improved his position steadily and finished well. MONEY MUDDLE showed an even effort, but faltered when called upon at the end. FALEEN began slowly and could not menace the leaders at the end. MARIATO was outrun. BLOOD had no excuses. MASTER LAD raced forwardly on the outside of the leaders all the way and held on gamely under urging at the end.
