VISHNU, away well, took the" lead from MAYOR HOLCOMBE after a quarter, continued to hold his advantage and won easily. OURAY, forced wide on the first turn, responded well after three-eighths, finished gamely, but failed to menace the winner. MAYOR HOLCOMBE gave way readily to the winner and then continued well for a half mile before tiring. EVERYBODY, outrun early, began moving up after three-eighths and finished courageously. FRIEND JOHN had no mishaps. ALL UPSET was through after a half mile. DARK PRINCE, prominent from the start, disposed of KEEN GLOAMING after three-eighths, drew into a clear lead and won handily. LUTEEN raced wide throughout, closed with good belated speed and might have" been best. MUCH WISER, never far back, responded well to strong handling, but could- not reach the leaders. METROPOLE, away fast and well up for a half mile, lost much ground on the stretch turn and tired slightly in the drive. KEEN GLOAMING had good speed for three-eighths. ST. ROSE, fractious at the post where she unseated her rider, was never a factor. OUR PATTY, outrun early, began to improve her position after a half mile and, strongly ridden the final quarter, was up in the final strides. MONKS GOLD, placed on the outside for the start, was away in motion, gave way to LIQUIDATION after three-eighths, came again on the inside when the latter ran out, but could not withstand the winner. LIQUIDATION moved up rapidly after three-eighths to take command, came very wide on the stretch turn, finished strongly when straightened and may have been best. STOLEN COLOR showed speed for a half mile under restraint and then failed to respond whn put to pressure. BONNIE DREAM was through after a hall mile. FUNDERBURG, under steadying restraint while racing close up for five-eighths, moved up between JIM McCONNELL and HARPEN BELLE entering the stretch and. getting to the lead in the final three-sixteenths, drew out. JIM McCONNELL, much used in the early eighths, gave way briefly to HARPEN BELLE on the stretch turn, rallied to good pressure, but failed to hold the winner. HARPEN BELLE had good speed from the start, lost ground on the turns and tired slightly in the final quarter. ANNA V. L., never far back and in hand early, olfcrcd a mild challenge when strongly shaken up in the final three-eighths. CHARMING SIR, away last, tired badly after three-quarters. ERLA, a factor from the start, cut sharply in front of EXPONENT when taking the lead after five-eighths and tired in the final quarter. LATER ON, slow to begin, worked his way up gradually on the outside and finished courageously. DEFTER forced the pace for three-quarters and then failed to rally when put to pressure.
