t JAMAICA TURF NOTES t and The Brookmeade Stables Corundum, after an examination by Dr. M. J. Dair, was excused from the fourth race Wednesday afternoon. The colt, according to trainer R. A. Smith, bruised himself and his leg filled. The son of Teddy Star Emerald will be reUred for the year. Jockey L. Pichon arrived from River Downs and will ride here and at Empire City. Trainer Sammy Smith stated that Miss Merriment will run in the Scarsdale at Empire City and then be retired to the stud. J. T. "Tommy" Taylor is making arrangements to ship a division of the V. S. Kilmer stable to California. He will have the services of jockey Kurtsinger for the Santa Anita meeting. Trainer James Fitzsimmons delayed the shipment of Granville to Belair Farm, where he will be turned out. The colt will be accompanied by Vicaress when the latter is in condition to travel.
