CINGALESE, away fast and hard urged throughout, was close to the pace, responded to vigorous handling and just lasted to outstay SWING CORNERS. The latter was rushed to the front soon after the break, held a slight advantage under hard driving and finished gamely. COUNTESS MARIO lost some ground racing wide, but improved her position in the final quarter. DON GRAFTON tired after showing speed for a half mile. ZELADY had no mishaps. The latter improved her position gradually, closed with a rush and was wearing down the winner near tnc ena. MONTMARY, never far out of it, was under strong restraint to the final three eighths, came to " ""? and gained slowly. The latter broke fast, forced the pace throughout and, but for losing ground at the turn, would have been a stronger factor. GALE WAY was rushed into contention quickly and, hard urged throughout, held on gamely. WICCES acted badly at the gate, was away with the leaders, but was in close quaiters at the far turn and showed a good effort. THE POINT began slowly and closed a good gap. CALEB had no excuse;. The latter, a strong factor throughout, took a slight lead in the last three-sixteenths, held on gamely, but could not withstand the leader. ROYAL COUNTESS displayed good speed while setting the pace under pressure, but tired in the drive. EASTPORT began slowly and finished strongly. SMILIN ED, slow to get going and under light restraint for a half mile, moved up rapidly, but lost ground when forced wide. TORNADIC tired after forcing the pace for three-quarters.
