Despite a heavy rain this morning and the certainty of an adverse track, a brilliant program, topped by the ,500 added East Hills Handicap and including two other handicaps, has been arranged for the third Saturday card at River Downs tomorrow. Eight star3, representing six different interests, will meet at one mile and a sixteenth in the East Hills Handicap, and although, with the exception of the first, second and seventh races, small field will be under colors for the five other numbers, the performers are very evenly mached, and Interesting racing should prevail. Seabiscuit, Mrs. C. S. Howards California-owned three-year-old, will carry the top burden of 116 pounds In the East Hills. After winning two stakes at Detroit, he finished third to Marynell and Cristate in the Western Hills Handicap here. He will have the services of the veteran jockey Pollard, who has piloted him in all his major, victories. Mucho Gusto, disappointing favorite in the Western Hill, follows him, under 111 pounds, and then comes Paradisical, carrying 110. The latter is also named for the Sinton Hotel, a sprint at six furlongs and fifth on the program. Cristate, which was a bang-up second to Marynell, will tote 109 pounds, followed by Don Creole, a non-winner here of two races, under 107. Professor Paul, which is coupled with Cristate as the Mrs. James Chesney entry, Safe and Sound and Best Bid, complete the field. In the Sinton Hotel Handicap Paradisical is scheduled to shoulder the top impost of 114 pounds. She will be opposed by Remil-niscent, Boston Mary, Dora May, Buddie Treacy and Zevson. The Gibson Hotel Handicap, for two-year-olds, will be the fourth event, and nine youngsters were named for the six furlongs sprint. In the event of fair weather, the largest crowd of the meeting Is expected. General manager Edward P. Strong reports many reservations for box seats, and the clubhouse caterer has a great number Of tables reserved for luncheon guests.
