JAMAICAS FINAL PROGRAM Count Arthur Heads Field for ,000 Continental Handicap, Chief Of-fering of Getaway Card. JAMAICA, N. Y., Oct. 16. For the final day of the Jamaica meeting tomorrow the best prize of the Metropolitan Jockey Club is now down for decision in the Continental Handicap, a gallop at a mile and a sixteenth, to which ,000 is added. There have been ten acceptances of the weights and, should all go to the post, as is expected, it will gross ,200. A notable of the company is Mrs. John Hertz Count Arthur, winner of the Jockey Club Gold Cup. The son of Reigh Count is asked to shoulder 115 pounds and he is sure to have a big following. William Ziegler, Jr.s good filly, Esposa. winner of the Merchants and Citizens Handicap at Saratoga Springs, takes up 111 pounds and she is another prime favorite with the patrons. Max Hirsch will send out Split Second, winner of the Selima Stakes of last year for the King Ranch, and her burden is 102 pounds. This miss had a conditioning race this week that should just about complete her training for the prize. Another good one is A. A. Baronis Ann ORuley, under 105 pounds, and Herman Phillips is also represented by a good filly in Fair Stein. Still another of the gentle sex is found in Jesting, which has raced so brilliantly for Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs. RUST BACK IN FORM. Altogether, it is rather remarkable that six of the ten engaged are fillies or mares, the other being Louis Strubes Rust, one that is coming back to good form. The remaining three to complete the field are Thursday, Steel Cutter and Whizzaway, and while these have not shown as much as some of the others, each is ready for the question and well suited at the distance. Another race of big interest on the final card of the meeting is a mile and seventy yards affair for two-year-olds. Mrs. Ethel V. Mars Reaping Reward takes up the top weight in this when he is to carry 116 pounds and in the 113-pound bracket are found Merry Maker, which ran such a good race Thursday only to be disqualified; Supply House; Duel, which has already won over the distance; Night Bud, and Melodist. Others arc Janeen, Bad Dreams and Sun Capture, making it a company of some or the best juveniles still in New York handicap company. Three of the other races are graded handicaps, races that are always popular. One of these is at six furlongs and the other two. which constitute a split, are over the mile and seventy yards distance. That leaves only- two of the seven races that are under claiming conditions and five of the seven events arc at distances in excess of a mile.
