Won easily; second and third driving. LOST BATTALION forced the pace from the start, disposed of ORIENT EXPRESS in the stretch run and drew away. ORIENT EXPRESS broke well and, in close quarters between the leaders rounding the far turn, saved ground at the stretch turn and held on well. BROGUE was placed under pressure rounding the far turn, made up ground and finished well at the end. ABADDON began slowly and was outrun in the early stages, then saved ground in the stretch. Won driving; second and third easily. PEERLESS PAL followed the early pace under steady restraint, moved up with determination on the outside entering the stretch and wore down BRAVADO in the final sixteenth. The latter began slowly, but improved his position steadily while saving ground on the outside, assumed command when straightened out for the stretch run, but hunc at the finish. IDENTICAL, away slowly, was gaining ground near the finish. DESTINED showed a good effort all the way. TONY MAN had early speed, but quit badly after entering the stretch. SQUIRREL had no mishaps. FLYING BANNER improved her position steadily under urging, came through on the inside of the leader, TIME ME, in the stretch, then drew away, but stumbled in the final few feet and nearly unseated her rider. TIME ME outran her field from the start, drew away into a long lead, was tiring through the stretch, but held on well. OLD MAID, away well, improved her position steadily and finished with good courage. SIR RANDOLPH raced evenly .throughout in the early stages and then finished well. ROVAL FLIGHT faltered badly under urgine in the stretch. INACTIVE had no mishaps in the running. SWIFT FLASH ran in spots. Scratched 35265 Belshaizar. 112. Overweight Time Me, 3 pounds; Inactive, 2. THORSON forced the early pace from the start, was given a breather at the far turn, moved into command rounding the stretch turn and held his opposition safe in the final drive. HOOPS moved up with determination when called upon on the outside of the leaders, made a determined bid in the stretch and held on well. CONTE was under restraint in the early running, moved up rapidly nearing the stretch turn and closed gamely. OLD STORY was outrun to the stretch turn and made up ground over tired horses. The latter followed the early pace under steady restraint, disposed of NIGHT RAVEN and SPEED when called upon, came through on the inside and was going strong under pressure at the end. STAVKAS rider claimed a foul against the winner, which was not alloxvcd. HUNTERDON, a slow starter, improved his position on the outside, moved up fast but hung in the final drive. BLACK MISCHIEF had no mishaps in the running. NIGHT RAVEN raced SPEED into defeat and then tired. GOOD POLITIAN was outrun. Scratched 35153 Gallant Miss, 112.
