ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES H. C. Rumage, local turf patron, will place chief dependence in Bold Lover and Our Count to uphold the popularity of his colors with patrons of Arlington Downs. These handicap performers, along with several others, will be campaigned here by trainer William Emerson. In the string Montee Preston has here for racing under the silks of C. F. Turner, Jr., are: Miss Webb, Definite, William V., Bagen May, Flaymay, Miss Anthony, Veronica C, Candy Yam and Estreall. Placing judge L. G. Bogenschutz, a newcomer to the Texas Jockey Club, was expected from Keeneland. Bogenschutz also is employed by the Alaino Downs Jockey Club. Frank Otis, patrol judge, will arrive Thursday morning from River Downs. W. Hitzelberger of Dallas and George B. McCamey of Fort Worth, selected to serve as honorary stewards, are on the grounds. Tommy Root, former jockey, is hopeful of seeing Judge Leer play a prominent role in the sprint division. When right. Judge Leer is one of the best at that branch of racing. He is owned by C. W. Pershall, who also has Thistle Genie at the local track. D. McDermid, with Recovery, Full Up and Brandon Prince, came here from Chicago at the close of the Lincoln Fields meeting. Virginia J. and Hocking were registered by J. W. Overby. Mrs. M. M. Johr shipped in six head. They are Sis Alice, Brisco, Runamuck, Kate Greenaway, Masked May and Imperial Betsy. I C. Stevenson is the trainer. Norman Hernandez shipped his entire stable from Houston, and the horses owned by Mrs. A. M. Creech, John T. Horwald, E. E. Irby, Charles Howell, Capt. Henry G. White and Lou Meripol also arrived at the Waggoner course Monday. Former jockey George Fields has the two-year-old Binjer in training here. The horse is owned by L. J. Fay. Many fans are looking to L. J. Leppers Motor City Stable as a source of winners during the thirty-three days Arlington Downs will operate this fall. Trained by S. C. Woolfe, it includes Appealing, Opera Bouffe, On Approval, Hood Cover, Smart Girl, Paris Model, Front Fender, Inherit, Wayiey, Aukai, Steering Wheel, Miss Horton, Port au Prince, Motion Picture and Westys Junior.
