Arlington Downs officials look for jockey Wayne Wright to accompany the A. A. Ba-roni stable here. Later Wright goes back to the J. E. Widener stable in Miami. Mrs. J. M. Irwin, whose stable is trained by S. A. Furnival, will start the Arlington Downs meeting with Prince Pest, Mr. Ricks and Redneck as her only colorbearers, though one or two horses will be added to the stable within a short time. Nominations for the ,500 added Dallas Centennial Handicap to be run Saturday, October 31, close Saturday with racing secretary Charles J. McLennan. This feature, for three-year-olds exclusively, will be run over the popular one mile and a sixteenth distance and is expected to engage a crack field. Announcement of weights will be made next Wednesday. Included in recent arrivals were the thoroughbreds belonging to J. Shirley Riley, wealthy sportsman of Roanoke, Va, in charge of trainer Jack Webber. They are Born Happy, Hi-Nelli, Spur Flower and Jim-mie Cabaniss. L. F. Anderson announced the sale of Moane Keala to Mark T. Cox, who will retire the eight-year-old mare to his ranch for breeding purposes. Terms of the transaction were private. Croon, sprint champion of the Epsom Downs meeting, headed the consignment of W. C. Stroiibes stable that was transferred to Arlington Downs, Monday night, by trainer M. M. Harrison, who will send the consistent sprinter after the stakes at the Fort Worth track. Others in the shipment are Patrolite, Sun Pilot and Bonnie Pan. Excepting only L. C. Bogenschutz and Sidney Brown, placing judges, and Frank Otis, patrol judge, all members of the racing department are present. Secretary McLennan arrived Saturday night from Keeneland. Charles A. Kenney, placing judge, came in Sunday from River Downs, and Emmett Hileman, patrol judge, who came from Ohio, were the latest to report. McLennan was here a week ago before going to Keeneland. Included among the more important stables which checked in during the past several days were those of Edward Haughton Three Ds Stock Farm, Jake Freedman, h! K.
