SECOND AND THIRD SESSIONS Prices Realized at Lexington Double Those of 1935. Yearling; Colt by The Nut Brings Top Trice of Evening Glen Riddle Consignment Averages ,356. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 20. The first of the yearlings to be offered during this week at E. J. Tranters Lexington sales paddock came before auctioneer Eugene "Doc" Bond last night. Eighty head brought an aggregate of 3,275, an average of 15.94. The aggregate for the seventy-nine head sold on the first evening in the same arena at the sale in November, 1935, was 7,225, an average of 97.78, which is approximately a sixty-five per cent increase. The principal consignment as to numbers was that of Old Hickory Farm, Inc., of which Col. Phil T. Chinn is president. He sold twenty-two head for a total of 6,525, an average of 51.14. The consignment from Audley Farm, nineteen head, and two additional, property of Audley Farm and L. A. Moseley, brought a total of 6,825, an average of 01.05. The three horses sold to divide the partnership of Warm Stable brought a total of ,700 and included the top price of the evening, the handsome chestnut colt by The Nut My Tide, by My Play, which was knocked down to W. Arnold Hanger for ,100. Ten head consigned by Greenwich Stud, Inc., and B. M. Browning brought ,475, an average of 47.50. The .horses bought during the two sessions by Harry S. Hart are to be sent to Hollywood, Calif., where Mr. Hat and others are contemplating the setting up of a breeding and training establishment. Aside from the consignment of mares from Samuel D. Riddles Glen Riddle Farm, of which there were fifteen, bringing a total of 0,350 average, ,356.67, the second morning of E. J. Tranters auction of thoroughbred horses at the Lexington sales paddock was featureless, the offerings for the greater number being very mediocre. However, the sixty-nine head were passed under the hammer for 9,400, an average of 15.94, which was considered by those" present to have been very good, indeed. The highest price of the morning was ,500, paid by W. H; Laboyteaux, owner of Hop Creek Farm, New York, for War Dancer, in foal to Big Blaze. A mistake was made by announcing her not in foal, otherwise she very likely would have brought In excess of ,000. Valdina Farm of Houston, Texas, got the High Time mare Exalted, in foal to St. Germans, for ,000, and she wa3 generally considered to have been a bargain. Out of the Poplar Hill consignment, which was the property of the estate of the late Henry Oliver, Charles Oliver of Sewickley, Pa., brother of the deceased, bought Skyblue Pink for ,000.
