MADONNA, forced back right after the start after a slow beginning, was taken to the outside and moved up quickly on the turn wlrile bearing in, took command after reaching the stretch and drew out under steady handling. SILVER FLEET had good speed from the start, knocked PRINCE GAY and GENE ESSA out of contention going to the far turn, raced SPURLIN into submission, but could not withstand the winner. BROTHER THOMAS was slow to get going, but gained steadily on the outside. TRAUW1NA was forced back on the turn by the winner while racing in a contending position. OLD NASSAU, away well but under mild restraint early while being taken to the inside, moved up to take command airoroachin!! the stretch turn, moved out to the better going and was under slight pressure to the end. SEVENTH INNING gained gradually on the outside after a slow start and finished well. GOLDEN ARIEL had difficulty settling into his stride, was guided to the outside and finished fast. CHEROVAN followed the early pace closely, but tired in the final quarter. SOLAR HAWK was on the inside throughout and showed an even effort. GREEDY followed the leader closely on the outside, made a strong bid at the stretch turn and faltered in the last sixteenth. QUINCY dropped well out of contention right after the start, was taken to the outside and closed with a belated rush. SHATTERPROOF, fractious at the post, failed to respond when called upon.
