CREDULOUS was slow to settle into his best stride, moved up steadily after rounding the far turn and closed with a rush, was up in the closing stride, finishing out near the outside rail. BONNIE PAN, following along in close pursuit of the pace, went to the front when ST. NICK began tiring, opened up a good lead and, down on the inside, just failed to last. LADY TICHNER, outpaced for the first half mile, closed with a rush. COYA made up some ground. CARAVAN QUEEN was well placed for the first half mile but tired in the drive. ST. NICK quit after displaying early speed. NALITA J. tired. BYE BYE MARY apparently did not fancy the Agoing, racing far back throughout. KING BONNY was prominent from the start, followed in close attendance until nearing the far turn, went to the front when called upon, came out into the better going and held LEONARD WILSON safe. The latter was reserved for the first half mile, moved up fast when called upon was carried wide into the stretch and, although holding on gamely, was unable to reach the winner. A claim of foul was disallowed. SANDWRACK closed a big gap and finished with good courage. COUNT ME was poorly ridden, followed in close pursuit of the pace, dropped back, then moved up again in the stretch and, although closing gamely, was unable to overtake the leaders. NOTICE ME was unable to reach the leaders. DIZZY B. trailed early and closed a good gap. KINDRED SPIRIT faltered after going five-eighths. DISTRACT was steadied along back of the pace, wore down MERRILY ON midway of the turn and, ridden hard at the end, held SIR ROSE safe. The latter, well placed throughout, came stoutly on the outside in the stretch run. MERRILY ON displayed good speed in pacemaking, but faltered in the last five-sixteenths. DOCTOR C. N. saved considerable ground at the stretch turn, moved up willingly, but faltered in the last eighth. LORD DALTON was far back early but closed some ground. POLLY B. was never prominent. Start good and slow. Won handily ; second and third driving. BOLD TURK went to the front at once, withstood early contention from STAGE BEAUTY, drew away into a good lead and dominated the running throughout. STAGE BEAUTY was in closest pursuit of the winner from the start and held on stoutly to the end. ENDYMION raced on the outside and although closing gamely was unable to reach the first two. HUSKIE BOY was well placed and hard ridden early, but was unable to threaten when placed under punishment. SMOKE SIGNAL was unable to close any ; ground in the drive through the stretch. THIRD PARTY was never prominent and came extremely wide into the stretch. HISTORIC ERA trailed until reaching the stretch, came through on the inside, saving many lengths, although in the worst going, and was unable to make up any ground. CLINGENDAAL outran his field to the first turn, drew away into a long lead, and its rider let up when enjoying a commanding lead in the stretch and, when his mount began to stop, had to go to a drive. CLINGENDAAL was soon back doing his, best again, and drew away. AMERICA FIRST began improving his position in the last half mile and closed with good energy. EASTPORT closed some ground in the last three-eighths. TRINA trailed early and, was unable to reach the leaders, although closing a good gap in tha last five-sixteenths. TEDDY PATIC had good speed for the first three-quarters, tiring thereafter. PRINCE SADOR was outrun. TEDDY BEAU was never prominent. Scratched 42246 Palan, 100; 43126 Sun Capture, 108. IRONBOUND, closer up than usual, moved up steadily in the run down the back stretch, wore down the pacemakers before reaching the stretch and, withstanding determined opposition from APPRENTICE, held him safe to the end. APPRENTICE trailed early, moved into contention with a rush after leaving the back stretch, moved through on the inside and, despite holding on courageously, was unable to reach the winner. BUSTER BOY was restrained while holding to a prominent position, came through on the inside in the stretch, saying many lengths, but was unable to reach the winner. MEDIUS DIES was much used up in forcing the pace of EURYALUS and faltered after going five-eighths. EURYALUS quit badly. ROYAL BLUNDER was unable to keep up. FLOWERY LADY moved up fast on the outside after straightening out on the back stretch, moved into a good lead after rounding the far turn and, roused repeatedly in the stretch, held BAD DREAMS safe. The latter, well placed all the way, continued gamely to the end. HAPPY FLAG, unruly at the post and a trailer early, came with a belated burst of speed through the stretch and would probably have been second in another side. SIGHTING BAR had good early speed but was unable to keep pace in the last quarter mile. LOVE POTION had brief early speed. Scratched 42749 Lateral Pass, 103. Overweight Bad Dreams, 4 pounds. The latter was well placed all the way, went to the front when SALLANDRY began tiring and, although holding on resolutely was unable to withstand the winner. WILCO moved up fast nearing the far turn but was unable to reach the first two in the drive. HIT AND RUN never could reach .the leaders. SALLANDRY displayed speed In in the pacemaking, faltering when the real racing began. CANPRA gained a prominent position early and tired after going a half mile. JOE S.AM was far back throughout.
