Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. SALIAN raced forwardly from the start and showed speed. He was bearing out through the final eighth and bumped STROLLING BY, then proved best in the final drive. He was disqualified. STROLLING BY dwelt slightly at the start, improved his position with a rush and was going strongly when carried wide and bumped by SALIAN. BAILIWICK was kept in a forward position from the start outside of the leaders, responded when called upon in the final eighth but lost ground when the leaders went wide. READY TEDDY showed speed from the start while saving ground but hung under pressure in the final drive. BET A MILLION began slowly, responded when called upon and made up some ground at the end. LAUSANNE showed an even effort. FORE was in close quarters in the early running but could not menace the leaders when clear. ARMY BANNERS broke well but was shuffled back and could not improve its position thereafter. COLIN LAD was outrun throughout. SECOND RACE ABOUT 1 3-4 MULES. Enchanter, June 18, 19343:13 4 146. FRANCIS handled his weight well and was rated along steadily, moved up when called upon, disposed of his opposition and had speed in reserve. GRAIN DE CAFE was kept forwardly and under steady restraint, was forced to take up when FLAYOX swerved in front of him during the running, then came to the outside to finish well. SHASTA NEGRA made a determined bid nearing the final quarter mile but hung badly under pressure. FLAYOX showed speed and was rated along steadily, encountering no mishaps. Won handily; second and third driving. INHALE overcame early interference and moved up fast when clear, came to the inside of the leaders and drew away in the final sixteenth. CREOLE MAID was taken up after the start, improved her position on the outside, bore in sharply at the eighth post and caused some crowding, then finished well. She was disqualified for fouling. SUPREMIST was carried wide at the turn by INVOKE, responded when called upon and Finished with good courage. FLORAGINA showed speed from the start, drew away into a brief lead but " faltered steadily through the final eighth. INVOKE bore out steadily going, to the turn, then finished well. BALKING was in close quarters when CREOLE MAID bore over. COURT DANCE was running strongly when annoyed and forced to take up at the eighth post. BYRNE was caught in close quarters after the break, improved his position steadily and finished well under urging. BILL FARNSWORTH, a forward factor from the start, had no mishaps in the running. JAY JAY moved up courageously in the stretch run and then tired. JEAN BART was away slowly and outrun. BLACK LOOK had no mishaps in the running. The latter was rushed into command after the start, was rated along steadily, responded when called upon in the stretch run, but was bearing out in the final sixteenth. SCENESHIFTER was taken back off the pace, was taken up again at the far turn, lost ground entering the stretch and finished fast on the outside of the leaders. MERRY MAKER, a forward factor throughout,had no mishaps in the running. NIGHT BUD was outrun. PTOLEMY could not improve his position.
