Brown, track superintendent at Thistle Down, came over from Cleveland for a conference with judge Joseph A. Murphy in regard to stall applications, which have far exceeded the fondest expectations of the management. Mel Emerick, owner of the Millsdale Stable, came over from Chicago to witness Infantry carry his colors in the Wolverine Handicap Saturday. Jockey Charles Corbett accompanied Mr. Emerick here and they will return to Chicago Sunday. Emil Denemark, whose wifes War Emblem and Corinto were under colors in thfr Wolverine Handicap, came over with jockey Charles Kurtsinger, who rode War Emblem. Leo ODonnell, trainer of the Tall Trees Stable, is shipping the horses to Rocking-iham Park Monday night. Jockey Melvin Calvert will accompany the stable. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stevenson arrived from their home at Hamilton, Ont., to witness Tempestuous carry Mrs. Stevensons colors the Wolverine Handicap. Former jockey Jessa Johnson, who is training a small but useful stable, was thrown while galloping Dozana Saturday morning. Johnson was sent to a local hospital for further examination. E. N. Dibble unloaded Narise, Blind Brook, Idle Along, Flying Dere and Poop Deck. The horses came from Long Branch and are the property of A. J. Halliwell. Apprentice Donald Grant packed and departed for Montreal, where he will ride for Dr. C. M. Henderson. W. Rosen brought Miss Capers Regula Baddun, Anhelation and Earldom from Suffolk Downs. Tom Gahagan, Americas leading authority on harness horse racing, was among those present in the big gathering.
