SANF0RD TO ACT AS STEWARD" Accepts Post at Lancaster as Presiding Officer for Ohio Meeting Scheduled to Open June 26. COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 19. Toni San-ford has accepted the post of presiding steward for the eight-day summer race meeting that opens at Lancaster, Ohio, Saturday, June 26. Sanford has occupied a post in the stand at Narragansett Park, j Agawam and Epsom Downs during the past several seasons. Thomas J. Brown will act in the dual role of racing secretary and starter for the meeting. H. D. Kohl will be clerk of the scales and placing judge. E. W. Striblihg will be paddock judge and associate steward. The third man in the stewards stand will be R. J. Dienst. Other officials are Robert Neal and H. E. Fiske. The Fairfield county Fair Grounds at Lancaster, which will house its third . annual race season in the impending meeting, has been put in excellent condition.
