Won driving ; second and third the same. GRIDDLE CAKE, outrun early, moved up rapidly when straightened out on the back stretch, lost ground on the lower turn, took the lead nearing the end but was doing his best at the end to stall off MARIO. The latter appeared sore going to the post and, far back early, closed with a rush in the stretch and would have won in another stride. GOOGIE, away well, was sent into the lead at the first turn, was in close quarters when BROWN BROTHER moved up, came on gamely in the stretch and finished well. ST. MICA, also annoyed when BROWN BROTHER came over entering the back stretch, recovered quickly, drew clear on the lower turn, but tired in the final sixteenth. BROWN BROTHER took the lead on the back stretch but tired badly in the final eighth. WELL BUILT stumbled on the upper turn, then dropped far back. Scratched 43317 Catwalk, 113; 43139 El Toto, 100. DAVID W., easily best, took the lead when straightened put on the back stretch, increased it steadily and, drawing away in the final quarter, won as his rider pleased. KRAKERJAC, well placed early, dropped back on the back stretch, was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished gamely. SISTER IKIE, away well, took a short early lead but was tiring badly at the end. WATERFRONT swung wide on the back stretch, worked his way up gamely and was going well at the end. DUNCE tired badly.
