I NEW FLORIDA TRACK PLANS I 00,000 ADDED STAKE MIAMI, Fla., June 19. Florida will have a 00,000 .added stake race to rival the famed Santa Anita Handicap, Joseph Smoot, head of the proposed Hollywood Turf Club, announced today in an interview. "We plan to put on a race that will top Santa Anitas famous 00,000 Special," Smooth said in revealing plans of the new race track. "Weve had telegrams pouring into our office for the past few days," he continued, "offering to put up ,250,000 for our new course, to be built at Hallendale, Fla." Although Smoot has those offers, he announced all the capital for the track would come from out-of-state people. None of the stock has been offered for sale in this state. "Several men of national importance have been included in our board of directors," Smoot declared. "The list we submitted to the Florida State Racing Commission yesterday only carried four, but we have many more than that." The track will be capitalized at ,000,000, but the company plans to spend an additional quarter of a million on the plant in an effort to rival Hialeahs world-famous beauty.
