t THISTLE DOWN TURF NOTES t s W. D. Covington will have only three horses here, but these are Prince Fellow, which will be a potential candidate in the stakes, and Rhiniz, another useful performer. Among the many others who have stall reservations are Joe Baumbach, with Zev-son, the winter champion; R. Robertson, Sr., with Lynx Eye, Bright and Early, Bill Donoghue and some others; Tom Cromwell, with his classy filly, Misgivings, and four others; Mrs. C. C. Winters, with Pokeaway, Odd Blue, Kabo and six others; the Oddesa Farm with twelve, headed by Eddie J. and Don Creole; Ed McCuan, with fifteen, including Scrip Money, Carus Clarus, Ted Hus-ing. Keene Daingerfield, Jr., will have Glint, Rome Haul, Gene Wagers and eight others. John Oros will have ten, including Bold Lover, Losweep and Gibbys Choice. E. E. Russell will have eight, including Golden Fate and Sun Apollo, while P. J. Van will point Almac for the long distance races. The Detroit contingent will be composed of about five hundred horses. The Latonia horses promise to cut a wide j swath in Thistle Down races. Smith G. I Baker, Sr., has Yantis, the popular one-1 eyed horse, which made such an impression on Cleveland race-goers last season, Prince Vic, R. L. Baker, Cherokee Red and eleven others, including six two-year-olds. J. C. Gillem has twelve, the property of himself; I. C. Miller, the Le Bus Brothers horses, and others. O. A. Bianchi has reserved stalls for himself and other owners and the Hopeful Stock Farm, C. R. Allen, Jewel Brothers, T. L. Pierce, H. G. Shumacker, C. N. Finch, H. H. Temple, Jr., Charles Granneman, Dan Lehan, A. C. Dettwiler, with Silas, Compensatory and others; Dan T. Morris, Tom B. Young, with fifteen; W. G. Sparks and Jesse Spencer are others who are shipping from the Milldale course. From Chicago will come Ross Higdon with fifteen head; Butsey Hernandez with his entire string of seventeen, including Woodlander, Biography, Flag Cadet and others, and Frank J. Grande with Play Pal and four others. Otto Bagley will have fifteen head. Omaha, Kansas City and Maryland are also sending their quota of horses. With Arlington Park and Thistle Down .practically the only tracks in the Middle West open at the time, the Forest City takes on added importance as one of the great racing centers of? the country.
