GUINEA LAW got through an opening in the first quarter to get to the front and, much the best, opened up a safe lead in the stretch. NOITSO was well up most of the way, and went gamely to the finish. RUSTILITE made up much ground under urging and was going gamely at the finish. LONGWOOD JR. had good early speed but tired in the stretch. The latter showed good early speed and held on with more courage than usual. CURLEY CUE was always a forward factor and ran a good race. LYRA was well tip all the way. ZANNY was. done after making a brief move on the outside approaching the stretch turn. HELL DIVER finished well in the middle of the track. VISHNU quit badly ia the stretch. . MARV, close up from the .start, improved his position steadily after leaving the back stretch and, cutting to the inside of CHINESE EMPRESS on the stretch turn, easily passed her and drew out in the last eighth. CHINESE EMPRESS raced close to GALLIENNE in the early stages, then took command on the stretch turn, but bore out badly on the turn and was not able to liold the winner. ROCKWOOD raced steadily and saved ground in the stretch. GALMICA showed a fair effort. BALKAN LAND and WATERSPLASH were badly outrun. GALLIENNE quit badly in the stretch.
