MESNER GOES TO INDIANAPOLIS SAN ANTONIO, Texas, April 11. Steve. Mesner, Cubs third baseman, has been released to the Indianapolis club of the American Association, subject to a twenty-four hour recall option. Mesner was given a tryout by the White Sox last spring, but later released. The Cubs took him from their Los Angeles farm and manager Grimm believes he will eventually develop into a star.
