DANKE SCHON went to the front early and, taken under restraint after entering the back stretch, withstood a challenge from PAPENIE nearing the stretch turn, again drew out after saving ground entering the stretch, but had to be hard urged near the end. PAPENIE bore out on the first turn, then raced up strongly on the back stretch, but raced rather wide on the stretch turn and could not get up although finishing well. SHASTA RACKET was never far back and showed a creditable effort. KEENE JACK was in close quarters several times while racing on the inside. BELOW ZERO was never a contender and pulled up slightly lame HIGH MARTIN was off poorly and was never a contender. SHARP GIRL was forced very wide on the first I turn and was never dangerous. CALAVERAS, showing improvement over his last race, took a fonvard position early and was taken in hand, then came fast when called upon in the stretch, to catch SPRING FLOOD near the end and win under urging. SPRING FLOOD went to the front early and, showing good speed while setting the pace, jostled SIRGAY slightly when the latter challenged in the stretch and held him safe, but could not resist the winner. SIRGAY made a strong move after leaving the back stretch and, although meeting with slight interference an eighth out, raced gamely to the end. McCARTHY saved ground and finished well. KING ROYALE never seriously threatened the leaders and quit badly in the stretch. THE SINGER closed a gap in the last half mile. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE. Seabiscuit, Nov. 28, 19361:363116. PRIMULUS went to the front early and, taken in hand after opening up a short lead, raced gamely to the finish under good riding and had enough left to hold GOSUM safe. The latter, lacking early speed, was permitted to drop far back of the field in the first half mile, but came with a sensational rush to reach contention and, after weaving on the stretch turn to choose a position, came to the inside to finish strongly next to the rail, gaining on the winner. PATTY CAKE was closest to the pace in the early running and raced fairly well to the end. EXHIBIT and CHANCEVIEW could not keep up and were beaten off. CHANCE VIEW raced in four bandages. EXHIBIT pulled up seemingly a trifle sore. Scratchcd-56011 Over the Top, 106. J SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. Top Bow, Dec. 8, 19341:423109. GRIM REAPER went to the front at once and saved ground while leading by a good margin down the back stretch, increased his advantage when permitted to run freely and, increasing his lead in the stretch, finished far in front. LAVENGRO had no excuse and hung under his weight after making a brief move oh the stretch turn. WING AND WING closed ground to finish well. ROMMY started from outside the stalls, lacked early speed and was badly outrun to the final quarter, but finished fast. KUMREIGH had early speed, but tired in the stretch. TRIPLANE was outclassed. GOLDEN NUT, never far from the pace, came strongly after leaving the back stretch and, getting to the front after turning for home, raced gamely when challenged by MISS BAM near the end to win under superior riding. MISS BAM was never far away and lost ground by racing wide, but closed fast to catch GOLDEN NUT near the finish and barely missed. BOLAMOLA saved ground to make a strong run in the stretch. TWO EDGED set the pace and raced SILVER SICKLE into defeat, but tired near the finish. BAGEN MAY swerved over on BATTLING GIRL at the start and both were knocked off stride, never to be serious factors. MAMALAHOA was fractious at the post and was used up racing to a contending position. FAIR CYNTHIA was never a contender. Overweight Two Edged, 1 pound; Bagen May, 1. NINTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute.
