ADAMS 00,000 PROPOSAL Suggests Race at Boston Between Star Horses Selected by Countrys Leading Handicappers. BOSTON, Mass., April 11. A 00,000 race among the worlds best thoroughbreds, selected by the countrys outstanding handicappers, was suggested by Charles F. Adams, board chairman of Suffolk Downs. Seventy thousand dollars would go to the winner, 2,500 for second place, ,000 for third; ,000 to the winning trainer, ,000 to the second, ,000 to the third and ,500 and 00 to the winning and second jockey, respectively. Adams proposal was aimed at removing commercialism that has "tainted" many of these planned races. This would be a "truly great racing event from which the champion of the American turf would come and the event would go a long way to encourage the breeding of thoroughbreds," he said. WEIGIIT-FOR-AGE. Suggesting a weight-for-age event at Suffolk Downs on July 9, the last day of this years meeting, the race would be conducted under the auspices of the Eastern Horse Club, prime mover in the country club meetings at Brookline in former years. The purse would be guaranteed by the Eastern Rac-nig Association, operators of Suffolk Downs. Profits would go to the sponsors. Adams would have at least six starters, but no more than twelve. The field would include winners of the Kentucky Derby, Prcakncss and the Massachusetts Handicap. Outstanding veterans, such as Scablscult and War Admiral, probably would be nominated. He recognized the possibility that Samuel Riddle and Charles S. Howard might pass up the proposed race in view of the match between War Admiral and Scabiscuit sclicd uled for late September.
