KEENELAND TURF NOTES t $ and The veteran rider Earl Steffen, is expected to reach hero Monday with the string of horses J. J. Flanigan is sending from Churchill Downs to represent the Valdina Farms. Having grown too heavy for saddle work, Hubert LeBlanc is assisting his brother Norman LeBlanc in training the eight head quartered at the trotting track. Hubert has been here two months, having picked up Lady Nadi, Dusty Ariel and Speed Squaw, which were turned out at Detroit last fall. Others stabled at the trotting track which race for the LeBlanc brothers are Tachedne, Sound Wave, Ebony Parasol, Belle James and Dark Mist. The latter was purchased at the Fair Grounds before the horses were shipped here from New Orleans. Apprentice Euclid LeBlanc, who is at Tropical Park and under engagements to Wesley Sears, will be here for the opening of the local meeting and will handle the LeBlanc horses in their engagements. The young apprentice -7as leased to Sears during the Miami season. Some of the riders to sport silks at Keene-land, who are here or due to reach the local oval in the next few days included E. Arcaro, W. Yarberry, G. South, J. Chestnut, I. Anderson, J. Barba, Carl Bierman, R. Dotter, R. Conley, J. Richard, E. Rodriguez, W. Cornay, S. Coucci, W. Kern F. A. Smith, J. J. Mc-Tague, R. Dean, E. Steffen, E. Thomas, W. Prehm, L. Canfield and E. LeBlanc. According to Charles Gormley, who has charge of the jockey quarters, there will be at least fifty riders here for the opening.
